This Privacy Policy explains how R2 Motorsports (“we,” “us” or “our”) collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit r2autorepair.com, call or text us, book an appointment online, or apply for a job with us.
Information We Collect
- Information you give us. When you fill out a form, book an appointment, call, text or email us, we collect what you provide, such as your name, phone number, email address, your vehicle’s year, make and model, the service you need, your preferred appointment time and any message you send.
- Job applications. If you apply for a job, we collect the information you submit, such as your name, contact details, work history, qualifications and resume.
- Information collected automatically when you visit our website. Our website and our service providers automatically collect your IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, the pages you view, the website or ad that brought you to us, and identifiers stored in cookies. Because your IP address and these identifiers can be linked to you, we treat them as personal information.
- Information about your phone calls and text messages. See “Phone Calls and Text Messages” below.
How We Use Information
- to respond to your calls, texts and requests, and to schedule and perform service on your vehicle;
- to provide customer support and follow up on our work;
- to evaluate job applications;
- to understand which of our ads, search listings and web pages lead customers to contact us, and to improve our website and advertising;
- to detect fraudulent clicks on our ads and to protect our website from spam and abuse; and
- to comply with the law.
Phone Calls and Text Messages
We use a call tracking service. Visitors to our website may see different phone numbers depending on how they found us, for example through a Google ad or a search result. This lets us tell which ads and pages lead to calls.
When you call or text one of these numbers, our call tracking provider collects your phone number; the name and approximate location (city, state and ZIP code) associated with your number through caller ID; the date, time and length of the call; and the content of any text message. If you visited our website before calling, your call can be connected to that visit, including the pages you viewed, how you found us, your device and browser, and your IP address.
Calls may be recorded. If a call is recorded, you will hear a notice at the start of the call. If you do not want your call recorded, please hang up and contact us another way, such as by booking online. Recorded calls may be transcribed and summarized automatically by our provider’s software. We use recordings, transcripts and summaries to respond to you, to train our staff, to check the quality of our service and to resolve disputes.
Online Booking
Our online appointment booking and service search tools are provided by a third-party scheduling provider. When you use them, the information you enter is collected by that provider and shared with us so we can schedule your service. The provider also uses its own analytics tools to measure how its booking tools are used.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies (such as small pieces of code from our service providers, and information stored in your browser) for these purposes:
- Essential: to keep the site secure, block spam on our forms, and remember your privacy choices.
- Analytics: to understand how visitors use the site, using Google Analytics and our website security provider’s analytics.
- Call tracking: to show the right tracking phone number and connect calls to website visits, as described above.
- Advertising: to measure whether our Google ads lead to calls and appointments, and to show our ads to people who have visited our site. When you book an appointment or tap to call, our Google advertising tags may send a hashed (scrambled) version of contact details you provide, such as your email address or phone number, to Google to measure our ads.
- Ad fraud prevention: a click-fraud detection service reviews visits that come from our ads, including IP address and device and browser information, to detect fraudulent clicks.
- Site features: online booking, customer reviews and maps provided by third parties.
- Optional tools, only with your permission: the Meta Pixel, which lets Meta (Facebook and Instagram) measure our ads and build advertising audiences from visits to our site and actions such as booking an appointment; and Microsoft Clarity, which records how visitors use our pages (such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement) so we can improve the site. These tools only run if you choose “Accept all” or turn them on in “Your Privacy Choices,” and you can turn them off at any time.
Some of these cookies are set by third parties, which receive information about your visit when our pages load. You can control them with “Your Privacy Choices” (below) and through your browser settings. You can also manage how Google uses your information at myadcenter.google.com and install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information for money. We share personal information with companies that help us run our business so they can provide their services to us. These include our website host and website security provider; our call tracking provider; our online scheduling provider; Google, for analytics, advertising and maps; our click-fraud detection provider; our customer reviews widget provider; our email and business software providers; and our marketing agency, which manages our website and advertising and delivers website form submissions to us. If you allow optional tools, we also share information with Meta and Microsoft as described above. Some of these companies, such as Google and Meta, also use information they collect through our website for their own purposes, as described in their own privacy policies.
We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
We may also disclose personal information when required by law, to respond to legal process, to protect our rights, property or safety or that of others, or in connection with a sale or reorganization of our business.
Your Privacy Choices
Click “Your Privacy Choices” at the bottom of any page on this website to:
- Turn optional tools on or off. The Meta Pixel and Microsoft Clarity are off unless you turn them on.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, including its use for targeted advertising. When you opt out, our analytics, call tracking, advertising, ad fraud prevention and optional tools stop running on that browser.
Your choices are saved in cookies, so you will need to make them again if you clear your cookies or use a different browser or device.
Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out, with no further action needed.
To opt out of the sharing of information you gave us by phone, text or through a form or booking, contact us using the details at the end of this policy.
Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because there is no common standard for how websites should respond to it, our website does not respond to Do Not Track signals. We do honor Global Privacy Control, as described above.
Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, this section applies to you in addition to the rest of this policy.
Personal information we have collected in the last 12 months
- Identifiers: name, phone number, email address, IP address, cookie and device identifiers, and ad click identifiers.
- Customer records: name, phone number, email address and vehicle information.
- Commercial information: the services you asked about, booked or purchased.
- Internet or other electronic network activity: pages viewed, how you reached our website, browser and device information and, if you allow Microsoft Clarity, how you interacted with our pages.
- Approximate location: city, state and ZIP code from your phone number, IP address or what you tell us. We do not collect precise geolocation.
- Audio and electronic information: recordings and transcripts of recorded phone calls, and the content of text messages.
- Professional or employment-related information: information you submit in a job application.
- Inferences: automatically generated call summaries and notes, such as the reason for your call.
We collect this information from you, from your browser or device, from our call tracking and scheduling providers (including caller ID information from phone carriers), and from Google when you click one of our ads. We use it for the purposes described in “How We Use Information,” and we disclose it to the categories of companies described in “Sharing.” We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
Sale and sharing
We do not sell personal information for money. However, we allow Google to collect identifiers, internet activity and approximate location through cookies on our website, and we share information about calls and appointments that came from our Google ads (such as the ad click identifier and hashed contact details) with Google to measure our advertising. California law may treat this as “selling” or “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If you allow optional tools, Meta and Microsoft also receive information as described above. You can opt out at any time as described in “Your Privacy Choices.” We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy. To decide how long, we consider how long we need it to respond to you and service your vehicle, our need to keep business, tax and warranty records, how long we need job application records to evaluate applicants and meet legal requirements, the need to resolve disputes, and our legal obligations. Website analytics and advertising data is kept according to the retention settings of the tools that collect it. When we no longer need personal information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Your rights
- Right to know: you can ask what personal information we have collected about you, where we got it, why we use it, who we disclose it to, and for a copy of it.
- Right to delete: you can ask us to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to correct: you can ask us to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing: see “Your Privacy Choices.”
- Right to non-discrimination: we will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.
